Passing through town and stopped by here for dinner. The place has a cool decor and interesting menu. A few things we really wanted to try but played it safe instead. Ordered the Woods Burger at the recommendation of our server and it was delicious. The service was great (friendly, helpful, and attentive). I would recommend the Woods Tavern to anyone.

Same ole same ole stuff. Crap beers. Average food. Inadequate staff. Came with expectations of better than average food and maybe a decent beer or two, nope. Signage to get in their lot could be better. Bland over cooked food. Bleh, atmosphere. Sorry, not up to par really. Maybe for Coventry folk. Next.....

My hubby and I have been a few times. So yummy! Fries are crazy good and I typically don't like fries. A while ago I ordered a special they had, a pasta dish with salmon and scallops. I was surprised to see something so 'un-bar-food-like' on the menu and it was awesome. Price was reasonable and portion size was great too. The rueben my husband got was on point. We will definitely be back :)

BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese. Weird start for a review, yes, but necessary. Go ahead, try it. You'll understand what I'm talking about.

This place has probably the best fries I've ever tasted. On top of that they have a band that plays every Saturday night. The soups have a great combinations along with the soups and burgers. Do you want to watch a hockey game or a football game you can right on a big screen. This place is awesome for hanging out and watching sports games. I strongly recommend that you check the woods Tavern out at any time.

Despite driving by this place twice a day, every day, it's somewhere I've never tried before. Maybe it's the location - in a strip mall, or that it looks more like a bar than a place to take the kids to eat, but after seeing so many positive reviews on Yelp, I decided to check out the menu online. It's a really great sounding menu and seemed like a good place for the kids and I to try. So we went for lunch. Inside is pleasant and inviting. Tables are spaced well and TVs to cover your sports needs. Service was friendly and attentive. The placemats even have some fun games on the back to distract the kids. The server brought over a little Avengers lunchbox with crayons and markers for the kids to use. Nice touch. My son got chicken fingers and fries. My daughter got a "homemade" meatball sandwich with baked potato and I got a chicken parm sandwich and fries. The verdict? A mixed reaction. The sandwiches were good. The meatballs were tasty, the sauce, while not flavorful, was not bad either. The rolls were great. Chewy, tasty and not too much bread. The chicken parm was good, a nice size portion of chicken, although nothing memorable as far as taste. Not great, but not bad either. My son liked his chicken fingers, which were real chicken breast, breaded and tasty. The fries on the other hand... Cooked for too long in oil that was not hot enough. They were dark and oily, some cooked through, some raw inside. Very salty and with a little additional seasoning as well. The ones that were cooked more and not sponges for the dark brown oil were pretty good, but overall, it was an unappealing side. My daughter's baked potato was fine. That might be the way to go. The final analysis: Nice atmosphere Much bigger than you would expect inside. Friendly, attentive staff. Food was decent, but nothing special. Uneven. Prices were reasonable Portions were great I would try it again, based on a pretty great menu and see if it is better on the second try. We were pretty early in the day (11:30), so maybe the food is better later in the day. You can do a lot worse locally (Bella's for instance is the worst place I've ever tried to eat at, and would likely have the same type of customer), so give it a try.

This place is great. I've been several times and have never had a problem. I have to admit "The Woods Burger" is my favorite item on the menu. It's a massive burger with cheddar cheese stuffed in the center and thick, crispy bacon on top. You have to try it. The fries are hand cut and fried on sight, clearly fresh. The staff is very personable and attentive. Anyone will fit in. Bring the family and chow down on some amazing home cooked classics and comfort food, or come by later in the evening for the drinks and fun atmosphere. I don't know their whole schedule but there are karaoke nights, weekend bands, and weekday trivia nights. Finally, if you're really looking for a fun night, you have to try the shotski! If you've never heard of a shotski, here's my advice; bring friends and be ready for a fun night at The Woods Tavern!

Went tonight, had an attentive server who was good with children. Drink special was very tasty, although first and second round were not consistent on flavor, both were good. Food was hot, fresh and was as promised. Meat was cooked properly and was thoroughly enjoyed. We were pleasantly surprised by this strip mall bar, very attractive inside.

This place has been prob just 10 diff business since ive been in the West Greenwhich area and I. Have to say this is the best it's been. The waitress I had was a nice young girl who tried to please us in every way unfortunately the food is not very good the chef tries to hard and makes concoctions that just don't taste well and obviously uses frozen food products...on a positive not they have really good chili

I've been there twice now, and both times I've noticed the following...a bunch of standing around by the staff. I would have to callout to them to get my drink refilled. The staff seemed nervous, always giggling and hardly would make eye contact. One of the owners was nice, made himself known, always walking around saying hello, asking how the meal was. In fact I'll make it a point to post this, he went as far to recommend something, then went in the back and got it for me, free of charge. I could tell the owner was proud of this business, explained what he's done, what it used to be, hired and fired, etc. I really hope it works out for him. Food: I tried the Chili, very good. A nice thick chili. The burgers I've had were hit or miss. One time the cook forgot to put the cheese in the middle of the burger. I'm a med/Rare kinda guy, this thing came out still mooing in the bun. Wings: Thick, meaty wings with a heavy sauce. Not bad for the price. The Nachos were terrible. I was extremely disappointed about that. I'm not paying that much for them if they don't even come with some sort of meat on them. Let, Tom, Onion, ground beef, HP, that I typically see when I order Nachos. I got them, and asked the owner if they come on, he said that's extra $. I understand how business works, but high pricing when you're in a saturated market (IE Dans, Cornerstone, LC Pizza, Venus, etc) within driving distance, you need to see what your comp is putting out and beat that. I'll go back and give them another shot, I would like to see the prices come down a little though.

Went to this restaurant with a friend prior to a fundraiser. It came recommended, so we thought it was a good time to try it out. Finding the entrance to the location was our only disappointment. First we entered the Dunkin Donuts, then the dirt road, but when we found the driveway, it was easy to spot The Woods Tavern. The beautiful wood-burned owl is a great mascot and a beautiful piece displayed. All in all, we had a laugh when we arrived. Upon entering, the hostess greeted us with a warm smile and asked if we were for dinner or just drinks. We asked for a tall top near the bar and were able to peak at some yummy-looking dinners. There are lots of TVs to watch your favorite game and high and low tables for groups of all sizes. Our waitress, Erica, was pleasant and answered our questions on available drinks. We really liked having Angry Orchard on tap. We immediately ordered two. My friend suggested we try Hot Damn in it to give it some zip. The waitress was very pleasant when she brought the drinks and not at all slighted when we asked for two shots to add to the cider. The smell of the fresh popcorn is always a welcome sign and the bartender was very helpful and friendly when I asked for a bowl. FOOD: We both decided on burgers for dinner. Mine was The Wood's Burger and at $10.99 was a great deal. The handmade burger grilled and filled with delicious gooey cheddar cheese that really did explode out of it when I cut the burger in half. They don't skimp with the bacon and mushrooms at this joint! So much that I needed my fork for the spillovers. I opted to switch the fries for the broccoli gratin and was not disappointed. Such a nicely done broccoli with broiled cheese crumb on top. My friend had Old Reliable Burger and asked for all her favorite toppings, including dill pickles. She stayed with the fresh cut fries and I tried the fries. Thank goodness my broccoli was good, because there were fresh and delicious. Erica was very attentive with refills on drinks and checking on the food. This place should be a must on you list of restaurants for a small group or a large family/friends gathering. Don't forget to check out the owl on the wall.

I have been there twice. First time on a friday for lunch and sat at the bar. I had the greek salad with chicken. It was very good. The second time I went back with my family. We were the first of 4 tables to come in. We waited atleast a 1/2 hour or more for our food. Pasta, Salad, and two burgers. They don't offer a child's burger so we had to get the 10.99 adult burger. My daughter only ate half. My husband burger was just ok. Not much flavoring. The menu said it has hot sauce, but it didn't. I believe there was a new cook or a different one than the first time we went. My salad dressing was different then the first time I went as well. I know they are new and will give them another shot.

My husband and I enjoyed dinner at Woods Tavern. The portion of fish n chips was large n well cooked a great value at $10.99. The Chicken Quesadilla were stuffed well n flavorful nice n crispy on outside &8.99. Staff was pleasant n efficient my only criticism is the seating not enough low comfortable chairs or booths.

My husband I went there with my daughter and her boyfriend. My daughter and her boyfriend ordered burgers .. nothing special and the buns were not fresh. My husband ordered the lobster roll ... he did not enjoy it, it contained way to much mayonnaise. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was supposed to be accompanied by a side of coleslaw. The pulled pork was dry and it came out with no coleslaw. I asked the waitress for it and she told me that they had run out. Would have been nice to know as I would have changed my order (I like coleslaw on top of my pulled pork). Instead, I ordered a side of barbecue sauce so that I could eat some of it. We ordered two orders of chicken wings, buffalo and terriyaki. While the wings were very good, they took a half hour to get to our table and when we began to enjoy them, lo and behold the meals came out ... nothing aggravates me more. So we all had dinner plates, appetizer plates, two dishes with wings and all of our beverages on the table we had barely any room. Someone did come over to our table to apologize about the timing of the food but that was too little too late. All in all an unpleasant dining experience and we will not be back. To say it was mediocre would be giving it more props than deserved.

Tried to go here for lunch. Right upon entering, we were rudely greeted by the bartender, who we simultaneously heard having an attitude with another waitress. After being told the kitchen didnt open until 11:30 we decided to wait the ten minutes until it opened. After we got our drinks the bartender literally tossed menus at us and walked away to the register. My husband asked this person what the soup of the day was and her response was that she "has no idea." She then grabbed her cell phone and put it to her ear and walked away. Never offered to find out what the soup was and was simply a miserable human being from the second we walked in. The other waitress who witnesses all of this seemed embarrassed by her coworker. We left five dollars on the counter and left without ordering any food. We are from this area and we will never come to this restaurant again. I don't even think this woman cared that we left, she just couldn't be bothered with customers. She should be fired.
